Issue 1 — 4:47 A.M.

The Standard is becoming a graphic novel. Same lessons, same standard, told for readers who meet a story before they meet a chapter.

Issue 1 follows Kai, a fourteen-year-old carrying more than he says out loud, and his father, who cleans hospital rooms on a shift that starts before the sun does. Nobody claps for that work. He holds the standard anyway. Kai spends the issue learning what that costs — and what it is worth.

It is a story about discipline when no one is watching, about the difference between anger and fuel, and about the moment a young man decides who he is going to be.
